Record-breaking profit of PGF and continued growth forecasts

Profitability at 1.37% and highest-ever net profit marked the end of 2005 for Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna. This year the company expects to maintain the high dynamics of its net result growth.

According to preliminary data, in 2005 the sales revenues of Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna, for the first time ever, exceeded PLN 3.8bn. At the same time, the cost reduction program implemented in the company increased the net profitability up to 1.37% against 1.16 in 2004.

- The achievement of our strategic objectives has been just as important as the net profit improvement. We have built a company that can effectively and efficiently supply medicinal products to Polish patients. Our business model based on a network of 12 modern warehouses in the largest cities of Poland and a group of 500 carriers supplying pharmacies on daily basis, and, most importantly, a group of affiliated privately owned pharmacies providing the highest quality service for patients has proven successful says Jacek Szwajcowski, the President of PGF’s Management Board.

Through consistently executed growth strategy Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna has built a nationwide warehousing network, which allows it to supply all pharmacies across the country in a fast and cost-efficient manner. In addition, the company is the only player in Poland that has developed a joint Partnership Program - called “Dbam o Zdrowie” - with private pharmacists. The program already covers over 800 pharmacies with distinctive visual identity – a logo of the DoZ Program on orange background. Based on the strength of the affiliated pharmacies and efficiency of PGF combined with over one million patients participating in the DoZ Program the company can build an attractive value proposition that differentiates it from the competition. – There are no other solutions that would ensure cheaper distribution of medicinal products in Poland. What does it mean for our business partners? The producers operating in the Polish market have an exceptionally reliable and low-cost distributor, while the patients served by the pharmacies can buy the cheapest product adds Szwajcowski.

In 2006 Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna plans to maintain high, two-digit dynamics of net profit growth observed in the previous year. – I am confident that a well-designed and efficiently managed organization that has experienced people and a properly defined and consistently implemented growth strategy always wins in the market. That is why I am convinced that not only this year but also the following ones will be successful for PGF declares Jacek Szwajcowski.
