Urtica for Children
Through its Wrocław-based subsidiary PGF Urtica Sp. z o.o., Pelion is running the "Urtica for Children" programme, designed to support oncology and haematology wards for children. As part of the project, little patients take part in an arts competition. The most interesting works are then sold at a charity auction, and all proceeds go to the 17 hospital wards covered by the project. The funds are used to purchase medical equipment, as well as a variety of other supplies for children patients: from games and toys, to teaching aids.
Support offered as part of the Urtica for Children initiative has more than just the financial dimension. Its primary value is the time devoted to the sick children and involvement of good-hearted persons in helping them forget for a while about the stark hospital reality. Every year, the project culminates in a grand finale gala, during which an auction of children's works is held.
