The DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation has launched a ‘Senior Reads’ campaign. It is the Foundation’s latest project aimed at helping older adults, which engaged Celina Maciejewska, the Seniors Ombudsman of Łódź.

The campaign’s aim is to supply books, guides and albums to places frequented by senior citizens. Seniors enjoy reading, but often cannot afford books on their low pensions.

All donated books will be transferred to Senior Centres, where everyone can come and read them in a nice atmosphere. Plans also include meetings with authors and joint reading sessions.

The project aims to encourage seniors to leave their homes, meet with other people, and spend time together.

Books are collected all year round. First gifts will go to the ‘Always Young in Łódź’ Centre of Active Seniors. Donors can send books to the DOZ Foundation’s office at ul. Zbąszyńska 3, 91-342 Łódź, Poland.

On behalf of the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation, we would like to thank in advance all those who decide to support the project and join the campaign of helping seniors.

The ‘Senior Reads’ initiative is another element of how the DOZ Foundation pursues its mission of helping the elderly. The Foundation also organises popular health-related conferences and musical recitals for this age group.

The DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation was established in 2007 on the initiative of its founder, Pelion S.A. A year later, it was included in the list of public benefit organisations. The purpose of the Foundation is to help those in need, in particular by mitigating inequalities in access to healthcare and medication. The Foundation also engages in health, educational and charity activities. To date, its support has been received by the elderly, single mothers, families with many children, and persons suffering from chronic diseases. Since 2013, the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation has been a member of the Polish Donors’ Forum association.
